Two schools in Northern Ghana will organise a public rally in conjuction with the local comminity will organise a public rally on the awareness of the MDGs.
On 18th October,The Green Club organised a forum to educate people on the need to Take Action against poverty and fot the MDGS.It was realised that,Most people in the Metropolis are still not aware of the Stand Upevent and the MDGs.The forum comprised of students,youth leaders and members of the general public.
On the first day of Stand Up And Take Action,The Green Club Club Organised Pupils of ten schools in the tamale metropolis to recite the stand up pledge and also proceeded on a float through the main streets of the metropolis.Radio discussion on the Stand up event and on the MDGS was carried out out on Radio Justice.926 participants/audiences were realized.
As part of the service of the St. Peters Cathedral Church in Kumasi a STAND UP event was held to get members of the church to be part of the Millennium Campaign against poverty. Members of the church learn about the MDGs and STAND UP. The priest read the STAND UP pledge afterwards.
Students were introduced to the MDGs and also given information on the reason behind STAND UP and TAKE ACTION. After this they were taken through the STAND UP proceedings and counted.
At the WaterAid Ghana office we are undertaking our very own Mexican-style ‘wave’ to help show Governments that we demand poverty is eradicated and the Millennium Development Goals are met as a political priority so that everyone can have access to taps and toilets. As the ‘wave’ goes round we will be taking the pledge to “End Water Poverty”.

On the second day of Stand Up-18th October,NORDESO organised a football gala match between Basic schools of Walewale District in the Northern Region as part of activiteis marking the Stand Up and Take Action Event.
On the first Day of stand up-17th October, NORDESO Donated Text Books to Officials of The Ghana Education Service at Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo district and also planted 50 trees to protect the environment against climate change as part of activities marking the stand Up and Take Action event.
YPWC under this project will take advantage of a National Health Fair to engage participants to a national health fair which is being organized in Kumasi in the STAND UP event. Children from the Kumasi Children’s Home will be transported to this venue for a blood screening and there will also be donation of blood to save the blood bank.
