This event was held at Citadelle, Port-Louis.The Reading of pledge was organised by Art of Living YES+ team. The deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius was present. All people stood up while the pledge was read.

The Pledge was read at the University of Mauritius by the Public Relations Officer in the Auditorium Hall. All students that were attending courses Stood Up in their respective classes while the Pledge was being read.

Beneficiaries of the outreach community-based programme of SOS Children’s Villages Mauritius will join millions of people worldwide to stand against poverty on Friday 17 October.
A solidarity walk will be organised together with physically handicapped people to mark the “White Cane Day” and also to distribute plants, and read pledge. 50 Plants were donated to the blinds & handicapped persons by the YES+ Team
A mass sensitisation campaign with a private radio (Radio One) will be carried out and the pledge read and invite people to stand up in one of the most popular and visited centre of the Capital, Port-Louis
The Mission Green Earth campaign for planting 50,000 trees around Mauritius was officially launched by the Ministry of Environment at the Police Headquarters. The UN pledge was read by a YES+ Participant. The Minister of Environment expressed his commitment to partner with AOL/YES+ team in the project. 10,000 plants will be offered for the campaign ending in July 2009.
