The Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Santo Domingo (PUCMM) supported the campaign distributing letters for teachers asking them to stand up with their students. 50 teachers asked their students to stand up on Octobert 17th, helping this way, to spread the message of the GCAP.
Vision Mundial supported the GCAP campaign thru a Stand up in the “Probateye” radio show, where they also spread the message of the campaign. Also 13 organizations of “Probateye” decided to support the campaing thru activities in their schools located in the bayes (sugar cane fields).
Vision Mundial also organized a march in Sabana Perdida and in other “Bateyes” of Barahona.
EDUCA, a dominican foundation for education, supported the campaign thru activities in 31 schools in San Pedro de Macoris and San Cristobal. The activities included a stand up on October 17th, during their flag ceremony.
The Fe y Alegria foundation supported the GCAP campaign in more than 40 schools thru activities held by teachers using the “Stand up schools guide” made by CIPAF for this year campaign. The activities included a Stand up on October 17th during their flags ceremonies.
The Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo held their first Medicine Congress for students from all universities of Santo Domingo. Doctor Gissel Vasquez talked about the link between HIV and poverty, and supported the campaign asking the audience to stand up against poverty.
The Dominican Teachers Association (ADP), the biggest union in the country, as part of the Dominican Coalition for the GCAP, distributed thousands of “Stand up guides” provided by CIPAF. The guides included a list of differents proposals for activities that teachers could develop in the classrooms with their students, including a “Stand up” on October 17th.
The staff of the radio show with the biggest audience in the Dominican Republic “El Gobierno de la Mañana” did a symbolic stand up during their show on October 17th.
During the 13th to the 17th October, teachers of the Unviersidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, supported the GCAP campaing, thru differents activities in the classrooms, including debates, research homeworks, and stand ups.
On October 17th, 752 students of de República de Guatemala School stood up against poverty on their flag ceremony.
Primary and secundary school’s students of the Republica de Comlobia School stood up against poverty on their flag ceremony of October 17th.
