The GCAP “Make Our Money Work For Us Campaign, Nigeria” Secretariat will be mobilizing all states and the Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria to Stand Up & Take Action Against Poverty on the 17th, 18th and 19th of October 2008.
Activities that CSOs, FBOs, Primary and Secondary schools, Universities, general public, government institutions, etc will carry out in observing the Stand Up Moment within the three days include:
(1) Press conferences on Stand Up Moment
(2) Stand Up Moment in Primary and Secondary Schools
(3) Stand Up Moment in Universities and other Tertiary Institutions
(4) Radio discussions on MDGs and Poverty in Nigeria
(5) TV dicussions on MDGs and Poverty in Nigeria
(6) Stand Up Moment in Mosques
(7) Stand Up Moment in Churches
(8) Talakawa Stand Up Moment during the Talakawa Summit (Poor People’s Summit) in Jigawa State on the 18th of October 2008
(9) Musical Concerts (ActionAID International’s Music for Food Justice by 3pm on the 19th of October 2008 at the International Conference Center, Abuja – Nigeria), and other musical concerts that will take place in other states in Nigeria
(10) Callisthenic Display of pupils to make Stand Up design
(11) Football matches
(12) Novelty match between female staff of FBOs and kauna women
