Catania wants to be in the front line in the battle against poverty. Already in the previous engagements of Stand Up, the city of Etnea was involved by being the greatest world-wide motivater, asking for the elimination of the most extreme poverty and demanding the attainment of the 8 Millenium Development Goals.

For the next ‘STAND UP! TAKE ACTION!’ Catania wants to raise itself up to the sound of music. A concert/event will be dedicated to the promises made with the Declaration of the Millenium.

The music of artists will be accompanied by Campaign video contributions. ‘No Excuse 2015’ explaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Representatives will be present throughout the concert to raise their voices against poverty and to make known the Millennium Campaign ‘End Poverty 2015’, with available information. Moments of reflections will alternate with great music that will unite thousands of young people with a single objective: to maintain the promises made by the Millenium Declaration.

We will use music to confirm that we ourselves remember these promises that were made, and we will stand up to assure that they are maintained.
