The event took place in all primary, secondary and institutions of higher learning under the supervision of the Ministry of education

35 participants were gathered at the working place for the national council for higher education. The message for stand up 2008 was read both in English and Kinyarwanda languages. The leader of the event was reading and the participants were repeating the words of the message. After that participants crouched down and stood up joined their hands as a gesture to join in fighting againist poverty

Rwanda UN Association and UN Rwanda are oganising an MDG presentation at the Kigali School of Finance and Banking. The Stand Up Pledge will be read by the President of the school and students will stand up. Parallell to this session an interactive event on UN work with refugees is organized by UNHCR

There is a mass conference where various anti-poverty associations/cooperatives, especially women and vulnerable groups operating from Rwanda will be represented. The participants in the conference will be given opportunity to ask some questions about the campaign and about the presentations which will be given by some of the campaigners.

This event will take place at the a University: School of finance and Banking.
