There was a flash mob organised in order to attract the attention of the pupils studying at “Ion Creanga” highschool in Bucharest, those present to the event were registereed and flyers were handed out.
The purpose of the campaign was to make pupils from different highschools in Petrila, Romania aware of the GCAP campaign and of the gravity of the situation of extreme poverty and how can we fight against it.
Teachers and students are talking about poverty in all the world and they are thinking at so many people who are living without medical care, food, jobs, education. It is really impossible to do something for all the world, but we can do something for the people who lived next to us
Here at the Fundatia International British School of Bucharest (Strada Agricultori Nr. 21-25, Sector 2, Bucuresti) we are trying to bring further awareness to our students about Global Citizenship. The theme of October is Poverty, which falls perfectly in line with the October 17th “Stand Up & Take Action Against Poverty” event!
“Stand up and speak out against poverty” will make visible the causes of global poverty, actions and commitment that are taken or can be taken to alleviate poverty.
The action comes as a follow-up of the pilot event ran in Cluj-Napoca in 2007 by PATRIR and World Vision.
