Demonstration against Poverty at Multan Press Club
Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), South Punjab NGOs Forum (SPNF) and Roshni Organization arranged a demonstration about the International Poverty Day on October 18, 2008. Almost 225 participants from civil society along with the 100 women took part. This peaceful protest was leaded by Ex. Member National Assembly Nafees Ansari, Shahnawaz Khan (SPO), Zahra Sajjad Zaidi (SPNF) and Hafiz Anwar Ahmad while more than 100 Women teachers, social workers were the participants. All the demonstrators were carrying the different kinds of placards having the words on the theme of “action against Poverty”. Caps were also printed for participants with the slogan of” eliminate poverty——not Poors”
