The BARKA Foundation collaborates with The Colonial Theatre and 5 other local Berkshire-based non-profits to celebrate the African immigrant and African-American communities in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. This is in conjunction with a performance at the historic Colonial Theatre by the world renowned Song & Dance Ensemble of West Africa. We will ask the audience to stand against poverty before the performance begins. This event marks the beginning of BARKA’s $1/Day Campaign to raise funds to achieve the MDGs in Burkina Faso and generate awareness of the billion people who live on less than a dollar a day.
