This STAND UP SPEAK OUT event will highlight a rally to end poverty and inequality globally. At exactly 7pm, every person in this event will be on his feet, to STAND UP and SPEAK OUT : End Poverty!
There will be short entertainment for people while waiting for the STAND UP time, as well as free items and give aways. Speakers will give brief STAND UP messages as well as Millennium Campaign awareness speeches.
The final figure of people Standing Up is a massive total of 43,716,440 participants in at least 6,540 events around the globe spanning 127 countries. They broke the world record - set last year at 23.5 million - for the largest number of people to “Stand Up Against Poverty” in 24 hours.
