As part of our theme for Harvest Thanksgiving Season: God’s Wonderful World, Give Poverty the Boot for FarmAfrica and hunger lunch, Edinburgh Churches Climate Change Conference we now join the record attempt to Stand Up against Poverty as an eco-congregation.
Standing in silence to remember the millennium goals and pray for world leaders that they may have the strength to fulfil their commitments in spite of the economic turmoil that they are wrestling with. This will take place during the worship at St Peter’s Scottish Episcopal Church in Dalry, Ayrshire, KA24 5AS (on the A737 just after it enters Dalry from the North).

You will find us at ML3 6JT – Auchingramont Road, Hamilton Scotland. Sunday 19th October at 10am. Introducing Scottish Episcopal Church ‘s MDG campaign. “Come and join the Scottish MiDGies” Lunch Supporting our work for the Casa Abba Project in Sao Paulo Brazil.
We’ll be having a stall all day in our local shopping mall to raise awareness of poverty. We’ll ask people to come to the town square for 3pm when we’ll be holding up a banner on poverty and asking people to stand and make the pledge – local councillors & press have been invited.
