After spending a week in NYC at the UN learning about Povery and world hunger and this event we stood up on our bus ride home and made a pledge to help.
A few of us got together and are going to have a canned food drive to help our poverty situation right here in Colorado Springs at the university in room 324 in Columbine. We are donating the food to Care ‘n’ Share. So, if anyone would like to participate, there is going to be a box in class for the next couple of weeks.

During Mission Moment, congregation will be asked to stand up for poverty and say a prayer.
All of the Students at Rodney Thompson Middle School will Stand-up at the beginning of 6th period to pledge their support to the Stand-Up campaign as directed by the school principal. A representative from the UN Washington, DC office will speak to a class of 8th graders about Stand-Up and what it means.
All students at St. Ann Catholic School stood for 1 minute and ready the pledge against poverty.
An ecumenical prayer service to raise awareness and get people from all over the world, all ages and all beliefs to take action towards the complete eradication of poverty.
